Underwater experiences in Grenada

Grenada is proud to boast the world’s first underwater sculpture park. With 30 new sculptures installed this year, it is quickly becoming art that will help save our oceans.

Submerge into the Underwater Sculpture Park

Grenada boasts the world’s first underwater sculpture park, first installed in 2006 with sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor. The aim was to encourage local people to interact with their underwater environment. The sculptures have been designed to promote coral growth using techniques to reduce the pH of the cement, becoming a sanctuary for small marine life. Most recently, 30 sculptures have been added as of October this year. This new collection is deeply connected to the island’s unique culture and heritage, much of which you’ll recognise from Carnival. Our on-site watersports centre offers snorkeling and dive trips to the Underwater Sculpture Park.

Sail the Ocean Blue

Picture this: you are on the deck of a traditional Caribbean sailing boat. All you see beyond is the natural world, all you breathe is fresh sea air, all you feel are the warm rays of the setting sun and saltwater breeze combing your hair, and all you hear are the waves gently lapping against the hull to a chorus of evening birdsong. Phone left behind intentionally, it is as if only for a moment, the rest of the world can wait.

Dive ‘The Titanic’ of the Caribbean

The Bianca C is the Caribbean’s most famed underwater wreck. Almost 600 feet long, this luxury cruiser is the largest diveble wreck in the Caribbean. The wreck sits in 167 feet of water and rests upright on its keel. Once the massive wreck comes into view, it quickly envelops your entire field of vision. Most definitely worth the adventure for all undersea enthusiasts.

Plunge into hidden waterfalls

With 18 waterfalls to explore on the island, there is no end to exploring Grenada’s rich and verdant island, full of dramatic contrasts. It has to be said, there is something incredibly something tranquil about finding a fresh-water source tucked neatly deep within the protection of the vibrant jungle, with all signs of modern life seemingly worlds away. Opt for the easy-to-reach Annadale and Concord Falls or get adventurous and hike with a tour guide to Mount Carmel, Seven Sisters and Golden Falls.
